Servants Of The destroyer

Luke 11:23a: He that is not with me (Jesus) is against me: . . .

Ephesians 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Christians fight so many little battles in their lives that they get distracted from the most important one. Satan wants us to waste our energy fighting for many things that are not worth fighting for. When we know others that are still in the desperate condition of being servants of the destroyer, it is not a reason to shun them. It is a reason to pity them, to love them, to pray for them and to share the gospel with them. Numberless servants of God took pity on me, loved me, prayed for me and shared the gospel with me. When Christians do those things, they are on the right side of the most important battle of the ages. They battle for the Life-Giver and against the destroyer.

Spiritual things are above physical things. Spiritual things influence physical things. Spiritual things are more powerful than physical things. Spiritual things are eternal and physical things are temporary. There are two sides to the spiritual battle, God*s and Satan*s. One or the other of those spiritual forces will dominate us. Satan wants to destroy us. Jesus wants to impart to us spiritual life, vitality and activity. Before I received Jesus, I was essentially and spiritually a servant of self and worse, a servant of the destroyer. I was on the wrong side of the most important battle. The only two things we mortals can do on our own are to rebel from Christ or surrender to Him. When we rebel against Him we surrender to Satan. And when we surrender to Christ we rebel against Satan. There is no middle ground.

1 John 5:12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

When we receive Jesus, He puts spiritual and eternal life in us. Spiritual speaks of the quality of it and eternal speaks of the quantity of it. Jesus puts in us a different and higher quality of spirituality than we had without Him. He puts us on the blessed side of the spiritual battle.

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

John 4:24: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Romans 8:16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Galatians 4:6: And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

1 Corinthians 2:15: But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Galatians 6:1: Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:1, 4: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. . . . 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
